ABOUT ME

The path to figuring out who I am and the career I want to pursue has been long. I am a first-generation college graduate, and during my pursuit of higher education, I was offered sparse guidance and a lot of pressure to attend college. My experiences guided me to become a college professor and academic advisor for several institutions. After a few years of being an adjunct instructor, I accepted a position at Pittsburgh Technical College, as a Full Time Professor of English.

After earning my BA in English at Thiel College, in PA, and my MA in English at Youngstown State University, in OH, I began teaching an array of composition, communication, and seminar courses, while also academically advising those students  in my seminar courses. Simultaneously, I am working towards earning my Ph.D. in Composition and Applied Linguistics, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. 

I focus my time as an instructor and scholar on classroom inclusion through Digital Rhetoric to assist students in understanding how versatile writing is. I have been working on creating more assignments, and overall course structures, that encourage students to use their varying literacies and languages within the classroom.
